Abstract
يبحث هذا المقال الظروف التي أسهمت في بروز النزعة الصوفية في بلاد شنقيط، بعد مرحلة كان فيها الخطاب الفقهي مهيمنا على الحياة الفكرية والدينية. ويربط هذا التحول بتفكك السلطة السياسية بعد انهيار دولة الصنغاي، وضعف مؤسسة الفقهاء، وجمود بعض المواقف التقليدية أمام حاجات المجتمع وتحولاته. كما يناقش أثر النزاعات القبلية والاضطراب الاجتماعي والسياسي، وحاجة الناس إلى الأمن والملاذ الروحي، في انتشار الطرق والتجارب الصوفية. ويعرض مكانة الفقهاء ومصادر نفوذهم، ثم يبين كيف نشأت توجهات روحية قدمت استجابات جديدة للأزمات القائمة. ويخلص المقال إلى أن التصوف برز نتيجة تفاعل عوامل دينية واجتماعية وسياسية، لا بوصفه ظاهرة معزولة (*).
