Publication requirements

Annals of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities receive manuscript submissions and enable authors to track them electronically through the journal’s platform. All required information and files must be provided in full; incomplete submissions will be returned to their authors before editorial screening or scientific peer review.

  1. Conditions for Manuscript Acceptance

The submitted manuscript must:

  • Be original, have not been previously published in whole or in part, and not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal or publishing body.
  • Fall within the fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences covered by the journal.
  • Make a clearly defined scholarly contribution and be based on an appropriate methodology, a structured analysis, and adequately supported findings.
  • Meet acceptable linguistic and methodological standards and comply with the journal’s template and instructions.
  • Respect scientific integrity, intellectual property rights, and the rules governing citation, referencing, and academic publishing.
  • Have been approved by all authors with regard to its content, the order of their names, and their institutional affiliations.

All manuscripts undergo a preliminary editorial screening to verify their relevance to the journal’s scope and their compliance with scientific, methodological, and technical requirements.

  1. Submission through the Journal Platform

The corresponding author is responsible for creating the submission on the journal’s website and entering all required metadata completely and accurately, including:

  • The title of the manuscript.
  • The abstract and keywords.
  • The names of all authors in the approved order.
  • Academic ranks and institutional affiliations.
  • Email addresses and the contact details of the corresponding author.
  • ORCID identifiers, where available.

The information entered on the platform must correspond exactly to the information provided in the full version of the manuscript.

  1. Required Files

The submission must include the following files:

  • An editable Microsoft Word version containing only the authors’ names, institutional affiliations, and contact details.
  • An anonymized version intended for double-blind scientific peer review, containing neither the authors’ names nor their institutions, nor any direct or indirect information that could reveal their identity.
  • The original source files of figures, maps, images, and tables, where necessary, in clear and high-quality formats.

The author is responsible for removing all identifying information from both the text of the anonymized version and the electronic properties of the file.

  1. Structure of the Article

Depending on the nature and discipline of the research, the article should include:

  • A clear and precise title.
  • A concise abstract and keywords in the language of the article.
  • A translation of the title, abstract, and keywords into one of the other languages accepted by the journal.
  • An introduction presenting the research topic, problem statement, objectives, and methodology.
  • A structured presentation of the findings, together with their analysis and discussion.
  • A conclusion setting out the main findings and conclusions.
  • A list of references, appendices, and supplementary materials, where applicable.

This structure may be adapted to theoretical, critical, or historical studies, as well as to critical editions of texts and documents, provided that the methodology is clearly stated and the presentation is coherent, sequential, and well integrated.

  1. Manuscript Presentation and Formatting

The manuscript must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s approved template and must observe the following requirements:

  • Use a clear and consistent font throughout the manuscript.
  • Organize headings and subheadings in a coherent hierarchy.
  • Number the pages and ensure consistency in paragraph formatting and punctuation.
  • Define abbreviations at their first occurrence.
  • Avoid excessive formatting or unnecessary typographical effects.
  • Revise the text linguistically and methodologically before submission.

Articles and studies containing major linguistic deficiencies, methodological inconsistencies, or clear shortcomings in referencing will not be forwarded for scientific peer review.

  1. Tables, Figures, Images, and Maps

Tables, figures, images, and maps must be inserted in their appropriate positions within the text, with due attention to the following:

  • Numbering them consecutively.
  • Providing each item with a clear and concise title.
  • Indicating the source below the item when it is reproduced or prepared on the basis of published data.
  • Ensuring the legibility of texts, symbols, and scales.
  • Inserting images and maps into the body of the manuscript in high-quality formats, such as PNG or JPEG.
  • Avoiding any visual alteration that could distort the data or mislead the reader.
  1. Citations and References

The journal adopts the APA Style, seventh edition, for research to which this system is suited. Another recognized scholarly referencing system may be used where required by the nature of the discipline, provided that it is applied consistently throughout the manuscript.

Authors must ensure:

  • Exact correspondence between references cited in the text and those included in the reference list.
  • Complete author names, titles of works, and publication details.
  • Inclusion of the DOI for each reference, where available.
  • Inclusion of an electronic link where no DOI is available and the source can be accessed online.
  • Use of reliable scholarly sources that the author has consulted directly.
  • Acquisition of the necessary permissions for the use of any copyrighted material.
  1. Editorial Screening, Scientific Peer Review, and Publication Decision

Manuscripts that comply with the journal’s requirements are submitted to double-blind scientific peer review. Their evaluation focuses in particular on:

  • Originality and scholarly contribution.
  • Appropriateness of the methodology and accuracy of the findings.
  • Clarity of structure and analysis.
  • Quality of language and referencing.
  • Relevance of the article to the journal’s disciplinary scope.

The evaluation may result in acceptance, a request for revisions, a further round of review, or rejection. Where revisions are required, the author must submit a revised version that addresses the reviewers’ comments.

Receipt of a manuscript or its referral for scientific peer review does not constitute a commitment by the journal to publish it.

  1. After Acceptance

Following acceptance, a final proof is sent to the author to verify the accuracy and integrity of the text before publication. At this stage, corrections are limited to typographical and technical errors; no substantial amendments will be accepted without the approval of the Editorial Board.

The order in which articles appear within an issue is determined by the Editorial Board on the basis of scientific and technical considerations.
