Abstract
يعرض المقال نشأة مدينة تيواون في السنغال وتحولها إلى مركز لنشر الإسلام والثقافة العربية. ويربط هذا التحول باستقرار الشيخ الحاج مالك سه ونشاطه الديني والتربوي والثقافي، وما أحدثه من تغيير في الحياة الروحية والاجتماعية للسكان. كما يبرز مكانة المدينة بوصفها مقرا بارزا للطريقة التجانية ومركزا للتعليم والتأليف والاحتفال بالمولد النبوي. ويبين المقال إسهام تيواون وزواياها وعلمائها في إشعاع العربية والعلوم الإسلامية داخل السنغال وغرب إفريقيا (*).
